I spent a great deal of time exploring the techniques of Batik painting. I was introduced to Batik in the 70's. I first learned to use melted crayons. After researching and experimenting, I progressed to using only dyes and wax blends. Thank you Linda Lathers for introducing me to this art form. For more on the art of Batik:


This batik has an overlay of silk organza imprinted with birds. When the work is backlit the birds disappear.
